Pirates of the Mediterranean

There are two important European fishing companies Nutreco (Denmark) and Pescanova (Spain), which, with their excessive action and ecocomic help from the European Union funds, have left our fishing grounds empty, leaving only jellyfish as the unique sea-party maker. The Mediterranean is dead, and kids are careful when bathing so that they don't get stoked by one of these viscous, yet beautiful creatures, who have done nothing wrong, at the end of the day, except reproducing in absence of predators.
Traditional Fisherman stay on the shore and gaze at their sold Sea with nostalgia, while thinking at what price they are going to sell their boat to be used as a "Patera", and reconvert in
some other business, or maybe move themselves to a more prosperous continent.

inspired by the article "globalizacion playera" from Gustavo Duch Guillot,Director of VSF Spain, published on September, 19th, 2006 in el periodico mediterraneo.
